Various news outlets have been focusing on different parts of the abortion battle in Texas, from Wendy Davis’ filibuster to the people’s protest to late term abortion restriction. The closing of the majority of Texas’ abortion clinics due to new regulations is sliding under the radar, but it’s probably the portion that Rick Perry cares about the most since his sister stands to get very wealthy when abortion clinics close.
I live in Texas right now and this is very relevant. It’s making my usually-apathetic self join my university’s NOW chapter and go advocate women’s rights. No srsly, Texas is ridiculous.

This sounds a lot like the Delma Towler story, where an 83-year-old woman was shot by the cops. Is it open season on innocent old people? Are our police forces so incompetent that they shoot-to-kill at anything that looks remotely dangerous?
